Los Improviachis

Rose Guccione will be performing as her Opera-Diva-Turned-Mariachi-Persona “La Viagra” with Salsation Theatre Company‘s musical improv group Los Improviachis at the legendary rock club Double Door. That’s right… an operatic voice will be heard at the same venue Rise Against, Sonic Youth, and the The Rolling Stones have performed!

WHO:

The primary purposes of Salsation Theatre Company, NFP is the presentation and creation of comedic and other theatrical works which consider the role of Latinos in American society and related topics; and to inspire and educate Latinos and non-Latinos in the use of theatrical and other performing arts as a medium for self-expression.

Laughing Stock‘s mission is to provide a haven for both comedy rock artists and the fans of the often-overlooked genre of comedy music. We mount a yearly festival, with shows in between.

Double Door is a 21-and-up live music venue located at 1572 N. Milwaukee Ave. at the Six Corners intersection of Milwaukee, Damen, and North Avenue in the heart of Chicago’s Wicker Park neighborhood. It’s been hosting live concerts, specializing in rock, metal, punk, hip-hop, funk, soul and many subgenres in between since June of 1994. The 550-capacity room has hosted an eclectic, diverse and often famous variety of live music and entertainment. Ranging from a secret Rolling Stones concert in 1997, to Rise Against filling in for a last-minute cancellation in 2003, to Sonic Youth playing a Lollapalooza after party in 2006, Double Door’s stage has seen some of the best from up-and-coming local acts to international superstars. And sometimes, those local artists end up becoming the superstars.
