Our Year to Date
OperaGram.com® has had an exciting 2009! It all began last November with a phone call from writer Robert K. Elder. Having read a blurb in a local blog promoting our website and services, he thought OperaGram.com® would make an interesting feature for the Chicago Tribune.
The challenge came in coordinating Elder’s schedule with an in person delivery. Elder and OperaGram.com® owner Rose Guccione exchanged several e-mails and phone calls over the few months that followed Elder’s initial phone call.
At last, Elder and the newspaper’s staff photographer/videographer Tom Van Dyke met Guccione on March 22, 2009 at 9:00 a.m. They observed as Guccione put on Viking makeup and gear, vocalized with her Bichon Frise and traveled to a restaurant to deliver a birthday greeting.
The article was published on the front page of the Chicago Tribune‘s LIVE! section on April 7, 2009. Consequently, our voicemail and e-mail accounts were full of orders and requests for media and special event appearances.
