Join OperaGram.com’s Rose Guccione on Sunday, December 13th at 1:00pm as she performs the role of Großherzogin Tina with the Chicago Folks Operetta production of Mitislaw der Moderne (in English and complete with can-can girls!) at the Day of Opera at the Chicago Cultural Center.

This rarely heard 1907 operetta was first premiered by the Chicago Folks Operetta in 2006 and was Lehar’s own parody of his hit show The Merry Widow.  The story is about young prince Mitislav who has returned to his homeland preaching the virtues of modern thought and free love.  He is joined by a bevy of dancers from The Merry Widow‘s Maxim’s.  Admission for Mitislaw is free.  For more information visit the Chicago Cultural Center’s link on the event.
