Brandi and Dan ordered an OperaGram.com® by Phone to surprise their co-worker Maggie on her birthday. The intent was to leave the message on her voice mail at work.

Thirty-three fifth graders in a school with which I’ve been working as part of Lyric Opera of Chicago’s “Lyric Opera Kids” program participated in the delivery today. The school’s music teacher had provided them with a copy of Robert Elder’s article on OperaGram.com®, so they knew how it worked and one could feel the excitement in the room as we waited for Maggie’s voice mail to begin.

Thank you, Brandi and Dan, for placing the order. Thank you, Maggie, for having a birthday today. Thank you my fifth grade opera singers for singing with such gusto. You all just provided payment for the cauldron central to the story of our children’s opera “Stone Soup”!
